Virtual card vs crypto gift for Claude

There are five ways to get Claude Pro when your card is declined. We sell one of them. Here are all five, with the cases where ours is the wrong choice marked as clearly as the cases where it is right.

Virtual card versus crypto gift code for buying Claude Pro — virtual cards need full KYC and monthly fees and can still be declined, crypto gift codes need no KYC and cannot be declined.

Virtual card service

Reasonable if you need a reusable card for several services, and you are comfortable with the KYC. Fails often at card-on-file authorisation.

Fine for developers who only need API calls. Does not give you Claude Pro on claude.ai, which is what most people actually want.

Avoid. Your conversations sit in someone else's account, and these get terminated. There is no legitimate version of this.

When a virtual card beats us

If you need a card for several international services — not just Claude — a virtual card amortises its fees across all of them and gives you something reusable. It also renews automatically, which a prepaid gift does not. If you are comfortable handing over ID documents and your card issuer supports card-on-file authorisation, that is a legitimately better setup than buying codes from us every month.

When we beat a virtual card

If Claude is the only thing you are trying to pay for, the maths is straightforward. A virtual card typically costs an issuance fee plus a monthly fee before you have bought anything, and it can still be declined at the card-on-file step — the 402 setup_intents failure is exactly that, and it is common with prepaid products. Our fee on Claude Pro is $2.40, once, with no KYC and no card that can be refused.

When an API gateway is the right call

If you are a developer who only calls the API, resold API credit or a gateway is cheaper and simpler than a subscription, because you pay per token instead of a flat monthly fee. We sell prepaid API credit too, but be honest with yourself about which one you need: API credit does not give you Claude Pro on claude.ai, and Claude Pro does not give you API access.

On other crypto resellers

There are several, and some of them are fine. We are not going to pretend we are the only honest operator in the category. Judge any of us on the same criteria: is the markup disclosed, is there a written refund policy with a deadline, is there a support channel that answers, and do they ever ask for your account login? Those four questions separate the real ones from the rest far better than a comparison table written by a competitor — including this one.

The one option with no legitimate version

Shared accounts and "lifetime Claude Pro" listings. Your conversations live in someone else's account, you can be locked out at any moment, and the underlying subscription is frequently paid with a stolen card, which is why it gets terminated. There is no price at which this is a good deal.

Our actual recommendation

Try your card first. If it works, use it — you will pay less than any option on this page. If it does not, and you only need Claude, buy one month from us and see how it goes before committing to a longer term.
